You Can Serve on the Board of Directors

Are you interested in AA Service and love Eastside Intergroup? You could serve on the Eastside Intergroup Board of Directors.

There are two ways you can get on the board. You can either make yourself available when we elect two new board members at our November business meeting or you can become your district’s ESIG Board member. Below are descriptions of each of those two kinds of Board Members

Elected Board Members

There are six Elected Board Members. Every November we elect two of them. These Elected Board Members serve three-year terms.

Elected Board Members should have least three years of continuous current sobriety, have previous A.A. service experience and be knowledgeable about the purpose and functions of the Intergroup.

District Appointed Board Members

There are five District Appointed Board Members; One from each of the five districts served by Eastside Intergroup.

Qualification and term duration is entirely up to the discretion of their district.  Eastside Intergroup asks the District Appointed Board Members shall have at least three years of continuous current sobriety, have A.A. service experience and be knowledgeable of the purpose and functions of the Intergroup. Intergroup also asks the District Appointed Board Members serve a two-year term.

Job Description

All Board Members are expected to attend all board meetings, business meetings and Intergroup events.

Once the incoming board members are identified, they will decide who will perform the six roles on the board: Chairperson, Alternate Chairperson, Treasurer, Alternate Treasurer, Secretary and Board Member At-large.
